Let's All Go to the Zoo

I grew up going to a pretty great zoo, Riverbanks, in Columbia, SC.  However, I have to give major props to the Toronto Zoo.  It is absolutely FANTASTIC.  We where there for 5 hours and didn't get to see everything.  This is a place we'll be going back to for years I'm sure.

Buckle up for another day in pictures.

Welcome to the ZOO!

This guy was just pitiful.  Not only is he a bit unfortune but he was crying.  Poor baby.

My family (folks on the right, not the left...those are strangers) checking out the hornless rhino.

Monkeys!

Elephants!

Hungry hungry hippo!

Baboons!

This has to be one of the coolest parts of the day.  Simba and Nala are MASSIVE and so regal!  I guess that's why they get to be the king and queen.

Jerry Giraffe.

Guess what comes next...

Yep!  The polar bears aka Canada's national mascot (not really).

One really cool thing about the Toronto Zoo is that it's divided up into continents.  Each area of the park focuses on 1 particular continent and not only features the animals but also gives a glimpse into how people in those areas might live as well.  This was one of the teepees.

Tiger was on the prowl.

And Ollie could have watched him all day long.  He almost did.

Apparently all of the zooing will wear a kid out.
