It's a short word with so much meaning isn't it? Love. It's fluid. Ever changing. Some days it's overwhelming and other days it's contented. Sometimes its deep and sometimes comes to the surface. But one this is certain; it is not - roses, bearskin rugs, candles, fancy dinners or jewelry. Those are things. Not love. Those kinds of things are often confused with love or symbols of it. But that's not it. Love to me is found in the mundane - small gestures that often go unnoticed or unappreciated - doing the laundry, a warm greeting at the door when you get home, a home cooked meal, or holding hands. Love is in the day to day. You just have to pay attention to it. Take notice.
Remember that love may not always make you feel like Allie from the Notebook. If Allie told the entire story, I bet she would tell you that each day wasn't like the movie. There must have been hard days. Conflicted days. Ordinary days. And that was ok. The day to day love saw them through.
Next week will be mine & Ollie's anniversary. Our life isn't filled with the things. It's filled with those little gestures. And I love that.
